Way Out West...

Not the "Wild West", or indeed, anywhere in the western United States!  Today, we we look at one of England's "less-fashionable" counties, so to speak.  A wonderfully rural county, full of rolling hills, fields, and other areas outstanding areas of natural beauty, I am talking about...

...Shropshire!  Birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shropshire is a landlocked county in the west of England, bordering Wales.  As I said, it is one of the most rural counties, and actually possesses no cities within its boundary!  The two largest towns are Telford (pop. 138,000) and Shrewsbury (the county town) with a population of 71,000.  The third largest, Oswestry, is much smaller with a population of some 15,000.
