Dangerous Moonlight...

...was a 1941 British film, starring Anton Walbrook.  One of the all-time classic British war movies, it was released in the USA as Suicide Squadron.  However, it is probably best remembered for a truly great piece of music, The Warsaw Concerto.

Written by the English composer Richard Addinsell (1904-1977), the piece was written in the style of Sergei Rachmaninoff. The film's director had wished to use Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 2 as a theme, but was unable to.  So, Addinsell was commissioned to write a similar piece.

Here it is played by Philip Fowke.

Enjoy!
